PUNK IS DADA has a consumptive response to civil society; PUNK IS DADA collects data from the Internet to create assemblages of the “now” speculating on a human coexistence with technology, specifically on how our present material conditioning could inform a rethinking of self-referential aesthetics. A noticeable distortion of visual media has inspired the concept of Lossy data compression. A method that is used by creating inexact approximations (or partial data discarding) commonly used for compression techniques to reduce the amount of data that would otherwise be needed to store, handle, and/or transmit the represented content via the web. Unlike the computer application PUNK IS DADA will manually discard media data from the modern world so it becomes simplified to the dimensions of the space/gallery as Lossy data would to a desired disk space. Enabling it to fit the desired data demand IRL.
